Glenvale is a rural area & locality in the Toowoomba Region, which is in Queensland, Australia. It is a suburb of Toowoomba. In the 2016 census, Glenvale had a population of 6,353 people.
During the 1990s and 2000s, it was a center of new construction, with many new housing developments & estates opening nearly every month.
In terms of geography, the Toowoomba Showgrounds are at the western end of Glenvale Road.
In terms of history, the area was first settled in the mid-nineteenth century for the purposes of farming and grazing farm animals.
Glenvale State School opened on July 18th, 1882. The original school building remains in use as a Resource Center.
On Sunday, April 3rd, 1955, the Glenvale Presbyterian Church Hall was officially opened. That was initiated by the Right Reverend Rowellyn Ramsay. He was the Queensland Presbyterian Moderator.
The Toowoomba Christian Parent Controlled Day School Association was established in the year 1991. Its purpose was to establish a school based on Christian values. That’s because there was a shortage of places in the existing church schools in the Toowoomba area. The association opened Glenvale Christian School on January 28th,1997 in the Toowoomba Christian Reformed Church. On October 19th, 2001 the current site was purchased. Construction commenced in March of the year 2003.
The Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland's Toowoomba Show has been held on the 245-acre (99 hectare) showground at Glenvale since the year 1985. The first Toowoomba Show was held in July of the year1862. That made it the longest-running agricultural show in Queensland. The showground was moved from the corner of Bridge and Mary Streets near the Queens Park reserve and City Botanic Gardens. Motivations for the move included lack of space, plus the need to rebuild run-down infrastructure, as well as a lack of space for camping and parking, and finally noise complaints for nearby residents.
From the early 1990s and onwards, the suburb of Glenvale experienced rapid residential development.
Circa July in the year 2017, the Lifeworks Uniting Church opened in Glenvale. It was a merger of three former Uniting Church congregations: Newtown, Scots and Westbrook.
At the start of the year 2001, the Darling Downs Christian School relocated to the suburb of Glenvale to accommodate the growing number of students.
In the year 2016 census, Glenvale had a population of 6,353 individuals.

The school is operated by Seventh-day Adventist Schools (South Queensland) Ltd. In the year 2020, the school had an enrollment of 197 students with 24 teachers (11 full-time equivalent) and 11 non-teaching staff.
The nearest government secondary schools are Harristown State High School in the neighboring suburb of Harristown to the east and Wilsonton State High School in the suburb of Wilsonton Heights to the north-west.

The Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland has both their offices and the new Toowoomba Showgrounds in the Glenvale suburb. The new showground includes large car parks, abundant camping facilities, many different buildings, a variety of function rooms and several large roofed spaces that include Cattle Pavilions and a State Equestrian Center.
These facilities can be hired & rented out. The extensive facilities at the Showgrounds make up the Clive Berghofer Events Center. That center was named for a local property developer and philanthropist named Clive Berghofer. He is a past Toowoomba Mayor & Member of State Parliament.
In terms of events, the annual agricultural show, known as the Toowoomba Show, is held at the showgrounds each year in March.
In terms of public transport, public transport in Glenvale is limited. The sole service to and from the Toowoomba CBD is City Bus Route 902 via Clifford Gardens between approximately 07:40 and 18:00 from Monday to Friday, And 08:40 to 16:35 on Saturday.
